This genius creation brings the feeling of zero gravity into your living space. While completely unnecessary, it is undeniably cool. The product’s designers have taken advantage of new technology for its brainchild – that visually enhances the experience of listening to your David Bowie records.

“By using our innovative and patented technology, we were able to achieve not only magnetic levitation, but we’ve also been able to maintain the incredibly precise turning of the platter with sensor regulating software. Air is the smoothest medium with least amount of friction, which further elevates this project into a truly unique listening experience.”

An added bonus: the turntable knows when the record is done and lifts the needle off at the end of a record – which keeps it from being scratched and prolongs the life of a cartridge.

Hold your horses, though. The music device isn’t on the market just yet. MAG-LEV made a campaign for their product on Kickstarter, and has only just reached its $415,935 target. Once available, an entry level player will cost $1,090 – inclusive of shipping fee.

Admit it, you do need this prodigious levitating record player in your life.
