First look: 10 artworks to see at Art Expo Malaysia Plus 2016

The largest, most significant and prestigious international visual arts feast in Malaysia — Art Expo Malaysia — is back. The 10th edition of this annual art fair will feature 60 established and reputable art galleries and groups from 30 countries who will show 2,000 pieces of artworks including paintings, sculptures, installations and photography. Read on for a list of participating art galleries, otherwise skip straight to the pictures for a sneak preview of 10 pieces to whet your appetite for the rest of the exhibition.

The Malaysian bandwagon, the largest delegation will be well represented by 100 local artists consisting of a fantastic mix of established and emerging young artists. Art WeMe Contemporary Gallery will also represent famous China artist Sanzi, while both the art auction houses Henry Butcher and Masterpiece will showcase works by Southeast Asian artists or highlight pieces of the coming auctions.

The exhibition will run from 20-23 October 2016 at Matrade Exhibition and Convention Centre (MECC), so pencil those dates in to make sure you don’t miss the largest art exhibition in Malaysia this year. Admission is free.
